Aiden Moffat Racing has announced that it will mount a full-scale assault on the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship in 2014. Talented Scottish driver Aiden is set to race for the family-run squad after the teenager made an impression during three BTCC outings earlier this year including gaining championship points. Rick Howson joins as team co-ordinator with other key staff due to be announced shortly.

The team's plans have been bolstered following the outright purchase of the RML built NGTC Chevrolet Cruze, plus all its assets and spares, that was previously owned and raced by Andy Neate in 2013. "We have examined the car and evaluated it to the finest degree." said team owner Bob Moffat. "It is clear that this can be a very competitive car with further development from the team and Aiden. We think that it is the ideal base for the team and that Aiden will show people what he is all about next year."

Aiden became the youngest driver in British Touring Car Championship history earlier this year when he contested his home round at Knockhill in a S2000 Chevrolet Cruze. He then went on to make his NGTC debut driving a VW Passat with Team HARD. in the final two rounds of the season.

Scoring championship points at both Silverstone and Brands Hatch, the 17-year-old is now focussing even further up the field. "There is no point me turning up to run at the rear of the field." he said. "I only race to win and I hope to do that at some point in the Cruze - it is a fantastic car."

Aiden is also being backed by Mirror Online and Daily Rocord Online as they were so impressed with his debut performances and we are pleased to announce that he is going to be their columnist for the 2014 season with lots of articles and feedback from Britain's premier motorsport series. He has also been confirmed as one of the BTCC drivers who will be at Autosport International in January.

Winning is exactly what Aiden has been doing in recent times, having closed out the Scottish Fiesta championship in fine style by claiming victory in nine of the last ten races on his way to finishing second in the standings.
