Following a short early-season break, the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship roars into action again on June 4th and 5th as the teams and drivers head to the picturesque Oulton Park circuit in Cheshire.

Set in rolling parkland, Oulton Park is popular with drivers and fans alike with its undulating track and variety of fast and slow corners providing a real challenge for the drivers and a feast of entertainment for the fans. In recent years, the Cheshire circuit has seen some of the BTCC's fiercest battles and memorable events. For the 2016 meeting, the drivers will once again compete on the familiar 'Island' circuit layout for rounds 10, 11 and 12 of the championship.

Arriving at Oulton Park, Halfords Yuasa Racing's Matt Neal and Team JCT600 with GardX's Rob Collard head the Drivers' Championship with 101 points each. Adam Morgan is currently lying 3rd in the standings for WIX Racing on 98 points with Motorbase Performance's Mat Jackson 4th on 90. Neal's team-mate and reigning BTCC champion Gordon Shedden is 5th on 86 points with Jack Goff 6th on 85, Sam Tordoff 7th on 84 and Andrew Jordan 8th on 80. MG Racing RCIB Insurance's Ashley Sutton and Josh Cook complete the top ten.

At last year's meeting, Jason Plato won the first two races in his Team BMR Volkswagen CC with Sam Tordoff winning the last race of the day in his JCT600 Racing with GardX BMW 125i M Sport. Matt Neal also went well last year at Oulton Park securing two podium finishes with team-mate Gordon Shedden taking a third in their Honda Civic Type Rs. For 2016, Team BMR switched to the Subaru Levorg GT and will be keen to move forward with the development of their four cars following the unfortunate events at Thruxton last time out.

With the Drivers' Championship so tight at the top, none of the front-runners can afford to make mistakes at Oulton Park as one bad race could see them plummeting down the order. They can't afford to relax either as many drivers are capable of scoring well thanks to the highly close and competitive nature of Britain's premier motor sport series. Will Neal or Collard be able to break away at the top of the table? Or will they lose out to the contenders snapping at their heels? Either way, the scene is set for a thrilling weekend of BTCC action.

In addition to the three races from the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship there is also a full supporting programme with action from the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup, Renault UK Clio Cup, MSA Formula Championship and Simpson Race Products Ginetta Junior Championship. To get tickets to this fantastic event, visit the Oulton Park web site or call the Ticket Hotline on 0843 453 9000 - there's free admission for children under 13 years of age!
