Sam Tordoff leads the Drivers' Championship heading to Snetterton

The Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship resumes on July 30th and 31st at the popular Snetterton circuit in Norfolk. With excellent spectator facilities, this will be the sixth year that the BTCC has raced on the fabulous '300' circuit layout which has proved to be a real hit with fans and drivers alike.

The Snetterton '300' circuit was introduced in 2011 with the creation of a new infield section and boasts some of the best views in national motorsport, with most of the circuit being visible from its three large spectator bankings at the Montreal, Palmer and Agostini corners. The layout provides fantastic racing and usually a fair bit of drama as well - few people will have forgotten Jason Plato's dramatic roll in the third race in 2013!

With more podium finishes than any other competitor in the BTCC this year, Team JCT600 with GardX driver Sam Tordoff leads the Drivers' Championship as the second half of the 2016 season gets under way at Snetterton. Tordoff's West Surrey Racing prepared BMW 125i M Sport has taken the Yorkshireman to one 1st, four 2nd and one 3rd place finish in addition to scoring championship points in 14 out of the 15 races held so far. Tordoff's team-mate Rob Collard is just 12 points off the championship lead, clearly demonstrating that the BMWs are currently the cars to beat.

Hot on the heels of championship leaders Tordoff and Collard are Halfords Yuasa Racing's Matt Neal and Motorbase Performance's Andrew Jordan with Team IHG Rewards Club driver Jack Goff in 5th place just one point behind Jordan. Outside of the top 5, other contenders could still be in the mix by the end of the year. BTCC rookie Ashley Sutton has impressed with the MG Racing RCIB Insurance MG6GT and is currently 7th in the standings whilst Silverline Subaru BMR Racing are now in race-winning form following a difficult start to the season.

For tickets to this fabulous event which includes a full supporting programme including the Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup, Simpson Race Products Ginetta Junior Championship, F4 British Championship, Porsche Carrera Cup GB and Renault UK Clio Cup, visit the Snetterton circuit web site of call the Ticket Hotline on 0843 453 9000.
