In a shock announcement by race officials, MG Racing RCIB Insurance's Ashley Sutton and Josh Cook have been excluded from the results of race 1 due to a rear wing infringement on their MG6GTs.

The announcement means that the race victory goes to Tom Ingram with Andrew Jordan 2nd and Rob Austin 3rd. Adam Morgan, Jake Hill and Aron Smith now complete the top 6.

As a result of the exclusion, the MG drivers will have to start race 2 from the back of the grid however under the series regulations, will still have to carry the success ballast earned for crossing the line 1st and 2nd.

The team has appealed against the ruling.
