From pole position, Mat Jackson got a fantastic start to the second race of the day from Donington Park. Behind him, Honda Yuasa Racing team-mates Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal were defending their positions whilst an incident on the first lap put the MG KX Momentum Racing MG6 of Jason Plato into the safety barrier following contact with Rob Collard's eBay Motors BMW 320si. Plato managed to get his car going again but later retired from the race.

Gordon Shedden passed Mat Jackson on lap 5 and started to build a slight lead. Behind him, the battle for 2nd, 3rd and 4th was building. Matt Neal passed Jackson on lap 8 then Dave Newsham in the Team ES Racing.com Vauxhall Vectra started putting pressure on Jackson.

The race ended in a 1-2 victory for the Honda Yuasa Racing Team with Gordon Shedden taking his first win of the 2012 season ahead of his team-mate. Mat Jackson completed the top 3 with Dave Newsham 4th, Andrew Jordan 5th and Jeff Smith 6th giving Honda Civics 4 out of the top 6 places.
