With just three meetings left on the 2013 calendar, the battle for the championship title is extremely close. Honda Yuasa Racing team-mates Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden are currently in the top three of the standings along with independent Honda driver Andrew Jordan. With a possible 67 points up for grabs from each of the remaining three meetings and Colin Turkington in the eBay Motors BMW mounting a sensational late challenge, the championship is still wide open. In fact, Turkington was the man on form last time out at Knockhill with two wins out of the three races.

Following their success at the Knockhill rounds including a maiden qualifying pole position and two podiums for Rob, Rob Austin Racing will return to action at Rockingham with their pair of Audi A4s. With Rockingham's unique circuit layout likely to suit the rear wheel drive NGTC-spec Audi, the team will be looking to repeat or even better their Knockhill success.

Elsewhere, BTCC record breaker Aiden Moffat will miss Rockingham as he has Mini and Fiesta racing commitments north of the border. He is, however, likely to return at Silverstone. As Moffat misses out, there is good news for all the Jack Goff fans out there as he returns to the fray and hopes to put on a good show after the disappointment of missing Knockhill.

Rockingham is different to other circuits as it is the only one on the BTCC calendar that has a banked track. This, in addition to its long straights, fast corners and hairpin bends makes for extremely exciting motor racing. Spectator facilities are excellent and include grandstands which afford views of almost the entire circuit.

With free admission to accompanied children aged 16 and under, all tickets include access to the vast grandstands as well as the central BTCC paddock and, on Sunday, the specially organised autograph session with the touring car drivers.
