Silverstone Preview - WIN TICKETS!

By MJP Media | 18 September 2013

The Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship heads to Silverstone on September 28th and 29th for the penultimate meeting of the season. Andrew Jordan leads the championship however 6 drivers could still lift the 2013 BTCC trophy.

Following his 2 race wins last time out at Rockingham, Pirtek Racing driver Andrew Jordan will go into the penultimate meeting at Silverstone with a 30 point lead over his nearest rival, defending BTCC champion Gordon Shedden. Jordan is the only driver to have scored points in every one of the 24 races so far this season winning more of them than any other driver and is well placed to take his maiden BTCC Drivers' Championship title this year, having taken the Independents' Trophy title in 2012.

Behind Andrew Jordan, the battle for the championship is extremely close with three former BTCC champions within 4 points of each other. Gordon Shedden is currently 2nd in the standings on 308 points with Colin Turkington 3rd on 305 and Matt Neal 4th on 304. Another former BTCC champion Jason Plato is still in contention in 5th place on 276 points with his MG KX Momentum Racing team-mate Sam Tordoff in 6th place, still with a mathematical possibility of taking the 2013 title.

Silverstone will be a critical meeting for all the title contenders and with its relatively short lap and long, wide straights it never fails to deliver plenty of bumper-to-bumper action. Adult tickets for race day (Sunday) start from just £26 if booked in advance with admission for accompanied children aged 15 and under FREE all weekend. Admission includes access to grandstands, the main central BTCC teams' paddock so you can get up close to your favourite drivers.

In addition to the three penultimate races of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship which headline the event, there will be full support programme including the Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup, Ginetta Junior Championship, Porsche Carrera Cup GB, and Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain - a full programme of motorsport indeed! For tickets, visit the Silverstone web site or call the ticket hotline on 0844 3750 740.
