It hardly seems any time at all since we were looking forward to the start of the 2015 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, yet the season is almost at the half way point as the teams, drivers and fans head to the Croft Circuit for the 5th meeting of the year on June 27th and 28th. Surrounded by farmland, the North Yorkshire circuit is always a firm favourite with the fans as its mixture of low, medium and high-speed sections, together with the tightest hairpin bend on the BTCC calendar, always produces exciting racing.

It was 'all change' at the top of the Drivers' Championship table last time out at Cheshire's Oulton Park circuit where a series of good results including two wins from the three races for Team BMR's Jason Plato put the double BTCC champion at the top of the standings, pushing Honda Yuasa Racing's Gordon Shedden down to 2nd place. Shedden's team-mate Matt Neal stayed 3rd with MG 888 Racing's Andrew Jordan now 4th ahead of defending champion Colin Turkington who dropped to 5th for Team BMR.

At last year's meeting, Colin Turkington won the first two races in his WSR prepared eBay Motors BMW 125i M Sport proving that the BMWs are strong around this circuit. That should please current BMW drivers Rob Collard, Sam Tordoff and Andy Priaulx who need to score well at Croft to remain in contention for the championship title. Having moved to Team BMR for the 2015 BTCC season, Turkington will no doubt be keen to emulate his team-mate Jason Plato's results at Oulton Park in order to re-ignite his championship defence however championship leader Jason Plato will be equally keen to stop him!

Five former BTCC champions are currently at the top of the leader board with Jason Plato only 3 points ahead of 2012 champion Gordon Shedden. Matt Neal is only 5 points behind with Andrew Jordan a further 5 points adrift. Colin Turkington completes the top five, 20 points behind Jordan however with a possible 67 points available at each meeting, Adam Morgan, Sam Tordoff and Jack Goff could all be in contention for the lead of the championship heading into the summer break.
