As the sun continued to beat down on a hot Snetterton track, the cars and drivers of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship lined up to start the second race of the day at the Norfolk circuit. With grid positions being determined by the fastest laps achieved in race 1, Colin Turkington again started in pole position in his Team BMR Volkswagen CC alongside the JCT600 Racing with GardX BMW 125i M Sport of Sam Tordoff. Adam Morgan and Jack Goff started on row 2 with Jason Plato and Andy Priaulx on row 3. Aron Smith and Andrew Jordan started on race 4 with Tom Ingram and Dave Newsham on row 5.

Following his accident at the end of the first race, Nicolas Hamilton just managed to join the field from the pit lane in his AmD Tuning.com Audi S3 while Kieran Gallagher failed to make the start as his RCIB Insurance Racing Toyota Avensis retired on the formation lap.

As the lights went out, Adam Morgan in the WIX Racing Mercedes Benz A-Class quickly passed the JCT600 Racing with GardX BMW 125i M Sport of Sam Tordoff to take 2nd place, pushing Tordoff down to 3rd. Elsewhere there were cars going off left, right and centre with four drivers failing to complete the first lap including championship contender Gordon Shedden who was hit by his Honda Yuasa Racing team-mate Matt Neal who got caught up in an incident between the two Eurotech Racing Hondas.

At the front and clear of the carnage behind, Colin Turkington started to extend a lead over the rest of the field as his Team BMR team-mate Aron Smith was crabbing back to the pits following a first-lap incident with the two Eurotech cars. By lap 4 the order was Colin Turkington in the lead with Adam Morgan, Andy Priaulx, Sam Tordoff and Jason Plato battling for 2nd place. A few laps later Matt Neal retired as a result of his contact with team-mate Gordon Shedden - a bad day at the office for the Honda Yuasa Racing team.

Jason Plato passed Sam Tordoff on lap 7 to claim 4th place then set about challenging Andy Priaulx for 3rd. Priaulx had other ideas and set the fastest lap of the race so far. A couple of laps later, Sam Tordoff was challenging Plato to regain the place he previously lost. Was Plato suffering on the soft option tyres?

At the chequered flag it was another dominant victory for Colin Turkington - his 2nd of the day. Adam Morgan held on to finish 2nd with Andy Priaulx 3rd, Jason Plato 4th, Sam Tordoff 5th and Jack Goff completing the top 6. The number 6 ball was drawn for the random reverse grid for the final race of the day gifting pole position to Jack Goff who will be joined on the front row by Sam Tordoff. Jason Plato and Andy Priaulx will start on row 2 with Adam Morgan and Colin Turkington on row 3.
