As the dust settles following the thrills and spills of the previous meeting, Thruxton in Hampshire is getting ready to host the 3rd meeting of the 2012 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

A great venue for spectators thanks to its vast viewing areas, Thruxton is probably the most fearsome circuit on the BTCC calendar with an average lap speed well in excess of 100mph and top speeds of around 140mph. Its layout is effectively a never-ending, occasionally tightening right-hand loop split by two chicanes and boasts extraordinarily high speeds. In fact, it is such a fast circuit that Dunlop brings a one-off tyre just for this event to help withstand the extra cornering loads.

Rob Collard is ready to take part in the London Marathon on Sunday

eBay Motors driver Rob Collard will be on a different type of tarmac on Sunday April 22nd when he swaps his Dunlop tyres for a pair of running shoes to take part in the London Marathon. Collard, one of the top drivers in the BTCC, has only recently resumed training having lost several weeks due to a 'stinking cold' but is optimistic about the event which he is doing in aid of the Snowdon Award Scheme which raises funds for disabled young people seeking employment opportunities. We wish him well.
