The Safety Car was briefly deployed whist marshals recovered Andy Neate's MG6. Racing resumed and Andrew Jordan dropped several places when he lost control of his Civic in the treacherous conditions allowing Gordon Shedden to take over the lead followed by Jason Plato who had passed Rob Collard.

At the half-way point, Honda Yuasa Racing team-mates Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal were in the lead with Jason Plato 3rd and Mat Jackson 4th. Running mid-field, Rob Collard was having some exciting battles as he made up several places however he later spun in the slippery conditions and lost the places he had previously gained.
