The British Touring Car Championship resumes on August 8th and 9th at the popular Snetterton circuit in Norfolk. With excellent spectator facilities, this will be the fifth year that the BTCC has raced on the '300' circuit layout which has proved to be a real hit with fans and drivers alike.

The Snetterton '300' circuit was introduced in 2011 with the creation of a new infield section and boasts some of the best views in national motorsport, with most of the circuit being visible from its three large spectator bankings at the Montreal, Palmer and Agostini corners. The layout provides fantastic racing and usually a fair bit of drama as well - few people will have forgotten Jason Plato's dramatic roll in the third race in 2013!

Having scored valuable points in every race during the first half of the season together with a couple of outright victories, Honda Yuasa Racing driver and 2012 BTCC Drivers' Champion Gordon Shedden entered the summer break at the top of the championship standings and starts the second half of the season on 195 points, just 10 points ahead of former BTCC champion Jason Plato on 185 points. Three more former champions are only just behind in the shape of Matt Neal, Colin Turkington and Andrew Jordan who are 3rd, 5th and 6th on 173, 161 and 156 points respectively. Currently in 4th place on 162 points, Sam Tordoff is the only driver in the top 6 who isn't a former BTCC champion.

Snetterton will see several new faces to the 2015 grid of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship. Following their decision to not compete in the first half of the season due to other racing commitments, Motorbase Performance will return to BTCC action at Snetterton with Mat Jackson and James Cole piloting a pair of Ford Focuses. If their performance at the recent Dunlop tyre test where Jackson set the fastest lap time is anything to go by, the team are already up to speed and should be battling for podium places. Also making a return to the BTCC at Snetterton is American racer Robb Holland who will be driving Simon Belcher's Handy Motorsport Toyota Avensis for the next three meetings.
