Knockhill near Dunfermline gets ready to host the 7th meeting of the 2014 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship on August 23rd and 24th.

For fans of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, Knockhill is always a popular venue. Its mixture of dips, crests, blind brows and off-camber surface, together with notoriously unpredictable weather, makes it a real challenge for the drivers and a fantastic spectacle for the viewing public!
Scottish interest this year will high with 2012 Drivers' Champion Gordon Shedden from Dalgety Bay currently lying 2nd in the championship standings for Honda Yuasa Racing. Team-mate Matt Neal, who is currently 7th in the standings, has publicly stated that he will be supporting Shedden's title bid after accepting that he can't realistically challenge for the title himself.
Aiden Moffat was 2nd fastest at the recent tyre test
Dalkeith racer Aiden Moffat will be keen to continue his good form from the recent tyre test at Snetterton where he posted the 2nd fastest overall lap time of the day in his Laser Tools Racing Chevrolet Cruze Saloon. The only driver to post a faster lap time was 2009 BTCC champion and current championship leader Colin Turkington in his eBay Motors BMW 125i M Sport. Moffat made his BTCC debut at Knockhill last year and entered the history books by being the youngest driver ever to compete in the British Touring Car Championship.
Further Scottish interest lies with Inverness-based Dave Newsham who is a proven race winner at Knockhill, having won the final race of the day in 2012. He will doubtless be keen to repeat his success in his AmDTuning.com Ford Focus.
Having sustained mild concussion in the free practice session at Snetterton and being forced to sit out the final race of the day following a minor incident in race 2, defending BTCC champion Andrew Jordan is currently 4th in the championship standings for Pirtek Racing and will be determined to re-establish his title campaign at Knockhill. Ahead of Jordan lies former champions Jason Plato, Gordon Shedden and Colin Turkington however with Rob Collard only 17 points behind and Mat Jackson just another 11 points adrift, the 2014 BTCC season is still wide open.
