With the 2012 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship being decided tomorrow in the final 3 races of the season, all drivers will be keen to get to grips with the Grand Prix circuit at the popular Kent track.

With 4 drivers still capable of winning the 2012 BTCC title, it was Andrew Jordan in the Pirtek Racing Honda Civic who set the early pace in the first of the free practice sessions with fellow title contenders Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal 2nd and 3rd fastest. As the session progressed, Jason Plato went 2nd fastest in the MG KX Momentum MG6 which was carrying a special livery in support of Cancer Research UK.

At the end of the first practice session, it was the four title contenders who topped the time sheets with Matt Neal 1st ahead of team-mate Gordon Shedden in the Honda Yuasa Racing Team Civics. Andrew Jordan was 3rd fastest with Jason Plato 4th. Will Bratt was 5th fastest in the www.wixracing.co.uk Audi A4 with Mat Jackson in the Redstone Racing Ford Focus completing the top 6.

Andrew Jordan once again set the standard in the second free practice, topping the time sheets in his Pirtek Racing Honda Civic. As the previously damp track continued to dry out, the rear wheel drive BMWs of the eBay Motors team came into their own and started to post fast lap times. The Honda Yuasa Racing Team Honda Civics struggled to keep up with the front-runners and the team was frustrated to end the session outside the top 6.

Championship contender Andrew Jordan ended the second free practice session at the top of the time sheets with Tom Onslow-Cole and Rob Collard 2nd and 3rd fastest for eBay Motors. Jason Plato was 4th fastest with Jeff Smith 5th for Pirtek Racing and Nick Foster 6th for eBay Motors. The eBay Motors team were delighted to end the session with all three of their BMWs in the top 6.

The next British Touring Car Championship action from Brands Hatch is this afternoon's all-important qualifying session to determine the starting grid for the first race tomorrow and with the championship battle so tight, this session is likely to be highly significant for all concerned.
